ALEXANDER TEAM talks shop about the So. Florida – New York City connection and the next phase of contemporary building.
ELEVATE: Who is the Alexander Team client?
ALEXANDER TEAM: We cater to a diverse and discerning clientele who move in between the worlds of art, design, and culture. They are celebrities; top models, hedge fund managers, equity groups, developers, media outlets and top art gallerists.
ELEVATE: What differentiates the Alexander Team from other firms in the luxury living marketplace?
ALEXANDER TEAM: Our white-glove service, assiduous practices, and record-breaking sales deals make us recognizable in the real estate marketplace. (i.e.- 3 Indian Creek broke the record of $47 million which is the most expensive home to sell in Miami) We garner exposure by blending our business life with our social life. We work smarter and tenaciously, targeting the buyer and never turn this mindset off. We are known for being everywhere, with events around the globe. From major sporting arena’s to fashion weeks, art galas, car racing, foundations and with our families for Shabbat dinner. We are the brokers who have carved out price points to target the product we sell and are focused on the top end game in the New York and Miami landscape.
ELEVATE: What are the synergies between the So. Florida and NYC marketplace?
ALEXANDER TEAM: Miami has a significant influence on New York buyers. It has grown up and become more sophisticated. Buyers are interested due to the cultural scene, the tax shelter and it’s become the most well – traveled aviation route.
ELEVATE: What are your thoughts on the latest trends in the industry that are attracting the new millennial to purchase properties and do you see this as a phase or an awareness?
ALEXANDER TEAM: The buyer today is more conscious about his overall well-being and how he/she may balance their time. They want to incorporate wellness integration into their corporate and everyday lives to include; making responsible material choices that make them feel good, utilizing air and water purifiers for better quality breathing and drinking water, etc.
ELEVATE: With designers of all mediums (Fashion house and car brands) going into the real estate market today, do you feel that a consumer is more attracted to the brand in purchasing or do you feel that the consumer still has to have a connection to the space?
ALEXANDER TEAM: Some global brands who are going into the market today are trying to do this solely by name recognition. The ultimate brand is the architect and the designer in which adds credibility. That’s timeless luxury.
ELEVATE: Where do you see a transition in the marketplace over the next 5 years? (South Florida and New York)
ALEXANDER TEAM: We continue to evolve while reflecting on the past to create the future. There’s been an interesting phase of waterfront views and we can use Indian Creek as a catalyst. What we call contemporary is not as easy as creating a box with glass windows and placing all white furniture in it and calling it contemporary. To build contemporary right is expensive. There have been many demolished historical homes that were poorly designed. The next phase is to bring back the transitional with a little more Mediterranean flair.
ELEVATE: Are there any new developments that you want to share?
ALEXANDER TEAM: We are building a new ALEXANDER TEAM residence, in which is a 10,000 sq. ft. waterfront estate on Flamingo Drive with Italkraft. Flamingo Drive is going through a metamorphosis. It’s the new hot spot.
